THINGS YOU CAN DO ON IRS.GOV
Create your account.

Click on Sign in to Your Account.

This will bring you to a sign-in screen with 2 options.

You must already have an existing IRS.gov ID.me username to bypass this next series of steps.
Otherwise, you will be required to create an ID.me account and log in. You should open a browser on your cell phone, as you will need to allow the app to scan your face for ID verification. It also requires that you upload a photo of the front and back of your ID. The IRS has teamed w/ ID.me to provide the best ID protection and to protect your tax account.

On your phone:
Follow the instructions to complete your ID verifications.
It is always good to have access to your tax file account. It allows you to keep current with the IRS, make payments, or review your tax history. There is so much that you can do now on IRS.gov. If you don't have an account, then you may get left behind...
